ENGR 196H: HONORS PROSEMINAR
a) Survey of Engineering Professions
b) Planning Engineering Design
(a)=Fall Semester, (b)=Spring Semester
Course Description:
This course operates mainly through guest speakers who come from a
wide variety of different engineering backgrounds. As a UofA
Honors course, it is intended that these speakers provide advanced
talks about specific research areas or applications in engineering. Throughout
the year these talks also provide ranges of different advice about how
to survive in school and what skills might be needed for engineers in the
real world.
The first semester is usually conducted primarily in a large lecture
format, while the second semester is usually a smaller enrollment (thus
allowing laboratory visits and other fun activities).

noble folk come from private industry as well as many different departments
in the College of Engineering and Mines.
